Last night, instead of studying for final exams like a good girl, I went to see a screening of the classic movie "Frankenstein" a la Boris Karloff. Hilarious!
The scene where Elizabeth screams and the monster goes, "Gaerrrrr" - like he's coming on to her instead of trying to scare her - made me laugh so hard.
Poor Boris... I'm sure he thought he was being so dramatic.
My funky gall bladder prevents me from enjoying the full movie theatre experience. While my husband happily munched on buttered popcorn, I had to resort to another concession stand offering: a salt-free, butterless, wrinkly, chewy pretzel. It's not the same as the treasured popcorn, but it was just enough to prevent me from pouncing on my husband's popcorn like a rabid animal.
Was it worth it playing hookey from studying for finals? I don't know. I do know that all work and no play makes Law Ingenue a stressed-out lunatic.
I have been studying at work on my computer for the past week, so it's not as if I didn't study at all. While I'm mildly panicked that my finals start on Saturday, I'm not so panicked that I stayed home. Besides, Frankenstein, released in 1931, is short by today's standards.
However, today, I will be spending my work day studying on the computer again and going over old exams, following by a second study session this evening at home.
